What is Happening:
Monday: Students finished menu presentations in class, and organized their writing binders for Portfolio Night tomorrow evening. Completed Writing Warm-Up practice #78. Writing Warm-Up quiz next Monday, April 1.
Tuesday: Completed Writing Warm-Up practice #79. Handed out graded study folder for The City of Ember, emptied the folders, and replaced the old unit with the new one. Began Independent Reading books with Literature Circle tasks in class.
Wednesday: Completed Writing Warm-Up practice #80. Read Independent Reading Books and completed Literature Circle Tasks, and students began taking notes over poetry in their study folders today in class. Students received their City of Ember tests today, which are due back with parent signature on Friday, March 29.
Thursday: Completed Writing Warm-Up practice #81. Independent Reading and Literature Tasks in class. Poetry analysis with teams in study folders. Turned in signed Ember test.
Friday:
The students will finish presenting their menu assignments on Monday, and then they will be given their new study folder contents for our next unit of study.The new unit of study is over poetic devices and figurative language.Students will be completing the last Writing Warm-Up practice from their packet on Thursday, and the quiz over this packet will be on Monday, April 1.
