What is Happening:
Monday: Independent Reading in class with Literature Circle Discussions. Students turned in Literature Circle Discussion tasks. Graded Idiom Flip-Charts were returned to students. Analyzed poetry in class. Test over Poetic Devices and Figurative Language is on Thursday, April 18.
Tuesday: Counselor visit in class today where students took a career interest inventory. Independent Reading with Literature Circle tasks and poetry analysis in class. Test over Poetic Devices and Figuarative Language on Thursday.
Wednesday: In-class review for the test tomorrow. The last two pages of the study folder were given as homework to review for the test. All study folders are due with parent signature at test time tomorrow.
Thursday: The students turned in their study folders and took the test over Poetic Devices and Figurative Language today in class. They also read their Independent Reading Books and completed Literature Circle tasks for what was read today. The tasks that were completed this week are due at the end of class tomorrow after their book discussions have been held.
Friday:
This week in English Language Arts, the students will be finishing the unit on Poetic Devices and Figurative Language.They will be reviewing on Tuesday and Wednesday, and the test over this unit will be this Thursday, April 18.The students will really want to study and be prepared for this test, as it is our last major test this year.
All Independent Reading Books should be read and Book Report Forms completed and turned in by Friday, May 3. That day, students will be given their final Independent Book Project assignment.
