The Plan:





Students will be taking the Communication Arts MAP Test Tuesday – Thursday this week in their Homeroom classes.On Monday in English, students will focus on reviewing strategies to help them be successful on the test.Tuesday – Thursday, they will have shortened core classes, therefore in English, they will focus on getting finished with their Independent Reading Book.The book Report form for that book is due on Friday, May 3.

This Friday, students will begin working on the End-of-the-Year Writing Prompt.This serves as an assessment of their writing skills learned in the 6thgrade.The scores for this test will be reported to the district at the end of the school year.They will continue to work on this assessment into next week as well.

What is Happening:
Monday: Students completed MAP practice activities in class today and are bringing home their test over Poetic Devices and Figurative Language to be signed and returned by Wednesday, April 24. They did very well on this test with a team average of 85%.

Tuesday: Students read their Independent Reading Books in class today and began working on their Book Report Form, which is due by Friday, May 3. They also turned in their signed Figurative Language test as homework. The due date for the signed test is tomorrow for full credit.

Wednesday: The students turned in their signed Figurative Lang. test today in class. They also worked on reading their Independent Reading Books and Book Report forms, which are due no later than Friday, May 3.

Thursday: This was the last day that students had the entire class period to read their Independent Reading Books and work on their Book Report Forms.  The forms are due no later than next Friday, May 3 when they get their final project assignment.
