This week in English, we are continuing our study of persuasive techniques that advertisers use.We would greatly appreciate any of those old magazines you would like to get rid of for our activities.Thank you so much to those who have already sent them in.
The students were given back their graded Independent Reading Projects, and they did an awesome job on being able to show their understanding of the Plot Stages of a book.
Students were given new Reading Logs and Writing Warm-Up Practice packets in class on Monday.

Monday: - Students were given new Writing Warm-Up packets

- Graded Projects were returned to students in class today
- Note taking in study folder
Tuesday:
- Students were given their graded Writing Warm-Up quiz #3 to be signed and returned by this Thursday - team average increased from 77% to 89% this time
- Page 3 in study guide is to be completed for tomorrow's class
Wednesday:
- We checked page 3 of the study guide today
- Updated November and December calendars for 2nd quarter quizzes and due dates
- Signed Writing Warm-Up Quiz #3 due back tomorrow
Thursday:
- Students practiced new reading strategy - making connections
- Reading Log #4 turned in today
- Students analyzed magazine ads - given directions for tomorrow's activity of finding ads in magazines and categorizing by persuasive techniques used
