This week, the students will focus on reading and taking the
open-book quizzes over chapters 14 and 15 of The City of Ember. They will be taking the End of the Year
Writing Benchmark this Thursday and Friday in class. Next week, the students
will be in the computer lab taking the Reading and Language Arts Performance
Tests.
Because of the Performance testing and the End of the Year
Writing benchmarks coming up in class, the students will not be required to
turn in a 4th quarter Book Report Form for their Independent Reading
Book. That way, they will be able to
devote their time to finishing The City of Ember and completing the
final project for that book.
What is Happening:
Monday:
- Read chapter 14 and completed predictions
- Writing Warm-Up quiz returned - due back with parent signature by Wednesday
Tuesday:
- Group discussions over chapter 14
- Open-book quiz over chapter 14
- Signed Writing Warm-Up quiz due tomorrow
